Blink, and the moment could be gone 👀

I’m Antwon, and I love capturing photos! Whether the moment is spontaneous or well-planned, you can often find me prompting or lurking with my DSLR camera in-hand. Our lives move so quickly today and we have a thousand & one things to remember. Sometimes I find it very gratifying to sit and watch and “freeze” what I see (or don’t see in the moment).

I am a full-time professional photographer who lives in Chicago’s vibrant and busy Fulton Market neighborhood. Usually, I’m riding around the neighborhood on my e-scooter or my “vintage” blue Trek bicycle. I do my part, in a few ways, to keep the earth as green as possible. 🍏

Some history. I have always owned some type of camera (long before the days of smartphones), but I never thought of being a photographer. I never owned a Nikon F1 or anything like that. No, I started with Polaroid in the 80’s and later with Kodak Advantix Film (Osco Drug processing) in the 90’s. (I still possess many of those negatives.) 📸

So I went on to work white collar jobs such as employment in banking, and even earlier, in payment processing. But the demands of Corporate America left me with little freedom and a lack of personal creativity. Later, I even began bartending (finally using that training and certification that I paid for when I turned 21 years old), but that wasn’t for me either. However, now with my camera and ever-advancing knowledge, I capture the beauty and interest in a variety of people and subjects. I feel so proud to have pivoted to another career at this stage in my life. I have learned that my quest for personal productivity and creativity always leads me back to working with other people.

I have a same-gender partner, his name is Xavier. We are both very silly and playful. He and I have enjoyed sharing life together the past 17 years and counting. Kudos to us! No kids, but we love them. 😍 We have plenty of nieces and nephews with whom to share our love between the two of us.

Today, I offer a fun and engaging photography experience that delivers digital and printed memories. I'm flexible and easy to work with; and most of all, I love people. All photo processing and retouching are done in-house; and while I can't erase every blemish or tree, Adobe’s Photoshop can certainly do it! So if you need something special, speak to me. I would love to meet you and capture memorable images together. Whatever you need, we can make it happen together!

I am loving and friendly; and open to working with people of all colors, identities, abilities, and beliefs. 💛
